A number of reporters have asked us for the link to the video of the news conference where Bob Hunter appeared in March of this year. His statements at that March 1 news conference directly conflict with what he said today at the Florida Cabinet meeting.
Here is the link: http://www.floir.com/PresumedFactor/index.htm
Once there, look in the center of the page. You will see several items to choose by clicking. The video is the fourth item.
I suggest you download the video to your computer so you can quickly navigate the time bar.
The exact quote is as follows and is located approximately at 11:45 into the video:
“It’s very important that you understand that the presumed factor is not an overall savings. It’s only on the hurricane part of the premium. So the insurance companies will apply it to the hurricane part of the premium.”
Also note on the same download page that the documents for the March 1 press conference are there. Look at item number 2 (the Presumed Factors report) and download it. I direct your attention to page four of the executive summary and in the last paragraph on the page it says:
"The presumed factors...as previously stated, these do not represent the overall savings but are the factors to be applied by the insurance companies to the hurricane portion of the rates..."
