Re: Citizens Holding Forum with Sen. Fasano and Rep. Legg on Recent Legislative Changes Impacting Policyholders
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Citizens Property Insurance Corporation will co-host with Sen. Mike Fasano and Rep. John Legg an
educational forum on June 26th from 4:00-7:00 PM in New Port Richey to discuss the recent changes made during both the Regular and Special Session.
The meeting will focus on upcoming changes to sinkhole coverage. However, other legislative changes will be discussed.
"I applaud the staff of Citizens for their proactive steps to inform their customers of the importance of changes to their
sinkhole coverage," said state Sen. Mike Fasano.
Rep. Legg stated, " I am pleased that Citizens is visiting Pasco to inform their policyholders of the new changes in law. I
believe this is a positive step in bringing rate relief to Pasco County and I hope Citizens policyholders will take advantage
of this opportunity to learn of their rate reduction options."
The change in sinkhole coverage affects residents in Pasco and Hernando counties. Citizens policyholders in those counties will automatically be provided coverage for catastrophic ground cover collapse, but will have to select optional sinkhole cverage.
"At the public meeting this option and other related insurance issues will be discussed. I encourage everyone who has
coverage through Citizens to come to the meeting and ask any questions they have so that they are assured of the best
coverage for their needs." stated Sen. Fasano.
Citizens staff members will give a brief review of the policy changes and will also be available to help individual
policyholders who have questions about their coverage, said Citizens President Scott Wallace.
