Financial
consultants for the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund estimate the
state would have to bond $25.5 billion this year if a major hurricane
or series of storms were to cause the fund to have to deliver its full
obligated capacity.
John Forney of Raymond James and Associates, financial advisor to the
Cat Fund, gave a presentation on the claims-paying capacity of the
fund to the FHCF Advisory Council May 14.
